Why We Built Karmaworkx

We saw brilliant companies get burned by agencies and algorithms. We decided to build something different.

The Problem We Saw

Rashmi and I spent a combined 15+ years inside Google and enterprise marketing operations. We managed billions in ad spend. We watched algorithms improve. And we watched the same pattern repeat, over and over:

Smart companies would hire an agency. Things would be great for 3 months. Then the agency would go dark. The account would drift. Budget would leak. The client would realize, 18 months later, they were paying 2x what they should be paying for the same leads.

Or: Companies would flip the "auto-optimize" switch on their Google Ads account and watch their CAC climb 40% in six months because the algorithm was just... experimenting. Spending money on junk. Optimizing for Google's growth, not theirs.

We kept thinking: Why is this so common? Why don't companies have a partner who actually cares?

The answer was depressing: Because there's no incentive for a generic agency to care. If you're an agency with 50 clients, you're not going to spend 5 hours a week on any one account. And if you're the algorithm, you're not going to optimize for a company's profitability—you're going to optimize for engagement and spend volume.

So we decided to build something different.

The Elite Operator

Rashmi ran Google Ads operations for the Google Operations Center—the massive team that manages digital advertising revenue for Google's largest customers across North America and APAC.

In that role, she:

  • ✓ Managed hundreds of campaigns generating $4BN+ annual revenue
  • ✓ Led teams of 20+ specialists and analysts
  • ✓ Built automation frameworks (30–40% productivity gains)
  • ✓ Won multiple Google Constellation Awards

She knows Google's platform inside and out. She knows where the AI wants to go wrong. She knows how to put guardrails on it. She knows how to have a conversation with a CEO about why their CAC is what it is, and how to fix it.

Operational Excellence & Strategy

I spent 5+ years in operational leadership at Google. Large-scale teams. P&L responsibility. Complex stakeholder relationships. ISB Future Fit Leader. Certified digital marketer.

My superpower:

  • ✓ Scale operations without breaking them
  • ✓ Implement rigor and discipline into chaos
  • ✓ Ask the right questions before jumping to solutions
  • ✓ Think strategically while Rashmi executes tactically

When a client says, "We want to double our ad spend," I ask: Why? What's your sales capacity? What's your cash flow? What does profitability look like at 2x scale? Most agencies just say, "Sure, let's spend more." We actually think about it.

What We Believe

1. Data is important. Context is everything.

Numbers tell you what happened. Strategy tells you why it happened and what to do about it. We obsess over both.

2. Speed of execution matters. But direction matters more.

We make changes fast. But only after we've asked the hard questions. We don't optimize in the wrong direction.

3. Your profit is our metric. Not vanity metrics, not platform metrics. Profit.

If your CAC goes down 30% and your conversion volume stays stable, we did our job. If your CAC stays the same but Google tells you "conversions went up," we tell you the truth: something's broken.

4. Transparency builds trust. Opacity builds resentment.

You get weekly reports. Bi-weekly calls. Honest conversations. If we recommend a move, we explain it. If you disagree, we listen.

5. Guardrails beat automation.

We use Google's algorithms. But we control them. Machines should serve human goals, not the other way around.
